I have an unlocked/jailbroken iPhone first-gen which I recently upgraded to 2.0.1 via WinPWN, and I've had some problems with Mail. I understand that other users have had problems too, but I'm not sure that they've described the same problem.

Indeed, my Mail initially crashed several times--once immediately after loading, and twice after it tried downloading some messages. I copied a backup of my old /var/mobile/Library/Mail files into the folder, and I was able to get my old messages back. The problem was that Mail would try to download my new messages ("Downloading x of y") and not display anything. Since restoring my backup folder, it has not yet crashed; it's just unfunctional.

I've tried chowning the folder to mobile:mobile and chmoding to 777. Nothing works yet. Does anyone know what's wrong?

vovkab, I had already tried that in mobile terminal, to no avail.

Right now, my iPod hasn't been able to reboot, so I might have to just restore.

open boss prefs and in more use FixUserDir permissions, that should fix your mail app

I tried that before my iPhone stopped working. However, it's working okay on restore.
