Has anyone figured out how to do this? For an app like summerboard or dock that has no app ui and are enhancements to the apple ui eventually some of these apps may have settings, for instance being able to move the starburst for Dock. It would be great to have apps be able to add to the settings app.

I've thought about it too. So far no one has edited the actual iPhone Apple apps.

That's not editing the YouTube settings at all. Thats editing the Lockdown files, which the YouTube app looks at to determine if it can open. Still no one has actually edited the native Apple apps on the iPhone.

Oh.. That is just copying files from one phone to another to trick youtube into allowing access for a non-activated phone. Like PF said, they havent actually MODIFIED any Apple apps yet.

I wasn't talking about hacking settings. I was talking about adding features. i.e when you go into "settings" you see "airplane mode","wi-fi", vpn, usage, general, sounds, brightness, wallpaper, mail, phone, safari, ipod, and photos.
It would be cool to be able to add the settings for new non apple apps to this. So dock, and summerboard would show up and allow config options.
Or like now there is a settings button in rSBT, but it would be more iphone like to have the rsbt settings show up in the "Settings" app.

Correct, but the Settings portion of your iPhone is an app by Apple called Preferences. When you open Settings, the iPhone opens up the So, in order to add settings to that bit, you would have to edit the by Apple.

See post #10 here: The guy was able to add menu items to the settings app. This isn't editing the app, just editing the plist file.

Nice. I believe the only reason that works is because Apple has that support built in but just not activated. I could be wrong, of course.
