    Well, sorry, but you will need BSD subsystem or Cydia to do this:
    type chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media
    in terminal
    umm, i think that just f'd up my iphone (1.1.4). i can't get snes4iphone to see the ROMs that I have (yes, they are in the correct folder), so I tried running your command while I was SSH'd into the phone.

    now, snes4iphone immediately quits when I try and run it. I found out that is not the only program that doesn't work now wither. i have lost ipod functionality, youtube, ebooks, and much more....

    how do i reverse the "chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media" command I typed?

    I had this problem, and for clarity I thought I'd add that you enter "su" after opening terminal, then it asks for your password (alpine), and it will show you as root user

    then you enter "chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media"

    There will be no confirmation, but you'll then be able to save games.

    Hi, im a new user and only recently got my hands on an IPhone 3GS, after much farting about ive got Cydia running and gbsphone installed, been trying to run that terminal command, every time i type su in it loses connection, any ideas?
