    Hi all

Just got a new ipod touch for my kid running version 5.0.1, and have it jailbroken already. but when I look at setting> software update, the device is downloading version 6.0 for update. I quickly turn off the device cuz i really dont want to loose my jailbreak. Is there anyway I can disable the download on WIFI cuz it keep auto download the software. I did open itunes and uncheck the box "checking for update automatically" but that was itunes. How about the WIFI part?
    please help

There is a tweak in cydia to prevent the upgrade from showing up. But even if the iPod downloads the update, it will not install it unless you select to install the upgrade when it asks you.

    Try "no update"
    "update killer"

Or something on that line. Good luck.

OTA updates don't install on jail broken devices. It will just error.

To hide the update notification use noOTA from cydia

you may want to consider grabbing 'software update killer' instead.
this does the same as 'noOTA badge', but hides all the badges within the settings app, as well as actually deleting the 300-700mb update file it has automatically (and without consent) downloaded, freeing up some much needed space on your device
