You really wanna go there? That happens all the time. Maybe you are too young to remember BetaMax. How about vinyl records. How about HD-DVD for something just recent. How about CD's in about a year, when that format becomes obsolete.

You may argue that this isn't the same, because the iPhone software may change making some software not work. Well, no one will force anyone to update their iPhone. And, besides that, computers and everything related to them is constantly changing. Frankly, I believe very few things that I own related to computers and technology will I be using two years from now. Fact is, most people don't use the same cell phone for longer than a year, and that is especially true for those using PDA phones, including our iPhones.
are you an idiot? vinyl record sales is still a massive industry.

How, does anyone know how to set the MMi news bored as an RSS feed?

Also, come Monday, not everything is going to stop working just because 2.0 may be released... I swear to god, it's like the Y2K virus all over again...
Not many will update on the first day of the release. I won't. Let the kinks be ironed out (jailbreaking, activating, unlocking, and any other bugs) and third-party apps be available on it before i change.
1.1.4 is most stable and most apps in the App Store will be pay for at first anyway... And why would you change straight away, your phone wont be your's anymore, it will once again be apple's. Just like they want it to be, the are becoming power hungry.

I suspect we have to wait a while till they JB 2.0 for it to work, although I hear that 2.0 is a diff configuration and may 1.14 apps will not work, so be careful if Apple updates to 2.0 on Itunes on Monday, I would wait

    Thanks all

No current 3rd party apps will work on the new firmware... 2.0 has a new framework, and the old apps will have to be rewriten a bit to work on the new firmware.

I suggest, when Monday comes around, don't update straight away, as installer wont be available, and many of your most loved apps, including this one...

    Most likely.

The flip-screen is fun. Is it some core-animation thing? SmartRSS used a twist-turn effect. Can you choose between twist, turn, zoom other effects psuskeels? Twist or slide would look sweet on the lock-screen.
I like those little effects. They add 'life' to the apps. I wish I had some programming skill...

One suggestion if only the new item could automatically positions each other right under each other as they come in .On page one i have Calendar Today/tomorrow only, Email/Only new, and SMS/Only new . So as i get new items there set in there default spot
an Some time there's blank space between bubbles . Meaning if i only get sms i want it to set automatically on top But if i get all three the default its my prefer layout

(I get it now) Oh o.k , U have to position new items over the clock so it could find the first unlock location

Yes I do remember betamax and all those other now obsolete technologies.
I still have a Betamax and as a mater of fact it still works. The tapes I bought for it still play.

Yes people do go threw cell phones like water. But all the ringtones and applications they bought for that phone or PDA still work on the product it was made for. Even if they only used it for a year.
And, just like your Betamax, IntelliScreen will always work on the iPhone it was designed for. It is anyone's choice as to whether they upgrade to the as-yet-not-released new iPhone software.

are you an idiot? vinyl record sales is still a massive industry.
No, I am not an idiot, nor am I so rude as to accuse someone else of being an idiot. I am well aware of the current sales phenomen of vinyl records, but to call it a massive industry would be a gross overstatement. It is a niche market for the few individuals who think there is a "warmth" to the sound of analogue that is missing from digitally recorded material. (Best current stats - CD = 511 million/annual LP = 1 million/annual. Click here to see the chart)

Now - let's all drop this conversation in this thread, as it has become even more off-topic than it already was to begin with.

the DJ scene is still huge across the US and Europe....vinyl is seen as the pure form, there are still tons of of record stores that consist almost only of vinyl only. niche market is a bit of an understatement.

The definition of niche is "of or aimed at a specialist group or market: niche retailing ventures." CD's outsell vinyl by over 500 to 1. My calling the current vinyl record industry a niche market is spot-on... as was my request to stop this line of conversation within this thread, for it is completely, totally off-topic. I will not further respond to this line of discussion.
