It isn't working for me. Do I have to sign up via the the link Navizon gives me when I first start up on the iPhone - because I had an error - tried to sign in, and the name wasn't registered. SO, I registered via navizon.com instead on my laptop.

My registered name now works, but I get this error every time: "Your location could not be identified. No known Cells or WiFi nodes in range."

I live in a good city in Utah - Cell phone service is excellent. I'm not in the boonies!

    Any ideas?

This doesn't work for me at home, but then cell service here is questionable at best. Just two miles down the road at Waffle House it found me spot on! Amazing. Obviously if cell service is iffy this will be iffy too.

Hey guys, just a little info here, as I've been using Navizon for about a year and some change now with my WM device, and pretty much, your only going to have really good success with this app if your area have already been mapped by someone else or you. In other words, this app is designed for people to map a particualr area and it updates the info on the site for others to use. In order to map an area, you have to use an GPS enabled phone or GPS device, turn on wifi and drive around and it will update to the site. The good thing about it is that one, you get paid for mapping, as I have already collected $60 from them, and two, it helps a lot of people who cant afford or wouldnt like to use another device to give them GPS on their phone.

So, if you have an GPS device and an WM phone, collect some money and help others to get GPS working properly in their area.

I myself have mapped Atlanta, and from Atlanta to Memphis, TN.

After tinkering with this new app, I notice all it does is locate the nearest cell site. It does require you set your home area in their website but I set it using a different area like 10 miles away and still locates the nearest cell site to me which is 1 mile away.

Triangulating from cell towers is how all the cell phone-GPS systems work. It's a feature they were forced to incorporate so 911 operators could locate cell callers.

I installed the app but it couldn't find me, then froze my iPhone when I tried to cancel out of the screen.

This app will either work by itself, or force Apple to release the version they've been working on.
Not all cell phone GPS is based on triangulation. The better phones actually have a GPS receiver in them. Many of the 3G modem chips for phones have the GPS receiver also. Apple even stated reasons for not using the technology yet was size and battery consumption.

I didn't have wifi, I used this in the parking lot at Devry University's Campus in Federal Way, WA (Seattle Area) It was within 300 ft of where I was sitting in my car, I scrolled tiny bit to the right on google map and was on top of where I was parked.

Wait... Now it can't locate me out at my house, 7 miles from downtown Olympia, WA.. Well I guess this isn't as advanced as I thought haha.

    Unable to Locate
Your location could not be identified. No known Cells or WiFi nodes in range.

So guess, we just need to give them some more time.

hold the sleep/power button and the home button at the same time until you see the gray apple screen pop back up. that's a hard restart, don't believe is should delete anything off your phone I've done it many times.
