    Hi,
    Using 1.1.1 OTB unlocked with IPFS.
    I recently has to virginize my iphone from a bad 1.1.2 upgrade. It took a while but I did get everything working again, except my EDGE settings would crash back to springboard when I try to enter my carriers info (which are currently blank).

    After looking around I could not really find a solution, but with a little poking and fiddling, they are now working.

    Here is what I did:
    1) SSH to your phone

    2) navigate to and open ~/var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist

    and edit the line (strings):
    <dict>
    <key>apn</key>
    <string>xxxx</string>
    <key>password</key>
    <string>xxxx</string>
    <key>username</key>
    <string>xxxx</string>
    </dict>
    <dict>
    <key>apn</key>
    <string>xxxx</string>
    <key>password</key>
    <string>xxxx</string>
    <key>username</key>
    <string>xxxx</string>

    Where the 'xxxx' will need to be replaced with your carriers APN details, which can usually be found with a google search. And save/close the file.
    (I used pico from OSX Terminal to do this)

    3) Next navigate to the file: ~/var/root/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

    and edit the part:
    <key>AllowNetworkAccess</key>
    <integer>1</integer>
    <key>Available</key>
    <integer>1</integer>
    <key>Setup</key>
    <dict>
    <key>apn</key>
    <string>wap.cingular</string>
    <key>password</key>
    <string>CINGULAR1</string>
    <key>username</key>
    <string>[email protected]</string>

    Replacing the wap.cingular, CINGULAR1 and [email protected] information with your carriers APN details.

    4) Reboot your phone.

    Now when you go to your EDGE settings, they will still be blank, but you can connect to your EDGE network.
    And the settings do survive a shutdown and restart.

    I cannot say if this will work for you, it did for me.
    Hope this is of some use...
