    I am attempting this --> Unlock iPhone 3G, 3GS Baseband 05.14.02, 05.15.04, 06.15.00 with Ultrasn0w 1.2 | Nabtron
    According to the poster Ultrasn0w 2.1 now unlocks BB 4.2.1 and
    These instructions will help you unlock iPhone 3G / 3GS with basebands:

    But my BB isn't supported here. Is it worth updating my BB? Would I lose Cy?
    Still, no damage lol. What I get on screen now, rather than one bar (but not working for calls etc) is "no service". I have switched airplane mode on/off, as I see people have use successfully. Will call the iphones original carrier in the morning.
    Thanks for all the help.

    Reading more I find a suggestion here --> Update Baseband 06.15.00 With Redsn0w iPhone 3G / 3Gs | Nabtron
    To unlock your iPhone with baseband 05.14.02 or 05.15.04 we first need to upgrade them to baseband 06.15.00 from iOS 3.2.2 for iPad to be able to unlock it using ultrasn0w 1.2.
    iPhone Dev Team released redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 5 recently with the functionality to update iPhone’s baseband with iPad baseband, making it unlockable with ultrasn0w 1.2.
    Is this Redsn0w 0.9.6 beta 5 a tried and trested method to get my BB up to date and allow Ultrasn0w to do it's thing?

    Just one more thought. If I go ahead and upgrade this way does anyone know if this will remain untethered?
