Has anybody else had this issue. Jailbroke 4.1 3g and when phone is plugged into accessory to play and charge it freezes. Plays ok when not plugged in. More than 1 accessory was tried. Any ideas?

I had the same problem. I restored and rejailbroke with snowbreeze and ireb and it seems to be working. At least in my alarm clock, haven't tried my skydock yet.

Free up some RAM by using the sbsettings method.

What a BS response that was. Freeing RAM does not work. I have had the same issues. Connecting to an alarm clock, and my car dock both would cause the ipod to not respond. Soon after, the phone would re-spring and lock up for about 5 minutes. This only happens when I tried to use the iPod.

I restored to stock and ONLY jailbroke with redsn0w 0.9.6 b1, nothing else was added and the issue was present again. Its something with redsn0w, not RAM or anything else.

Am I getting smart with you? How would you know?

Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 is a beta version, buggy. Why don't you downgrade to 3.1.3 , jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.4 and then put it in DFU mode and restore to custom firmware created by Snowbreeze 2.0.2.

Try using a custom firmware made with pwnagetool or sn0wbreeze as stated above.

First download sn0wbreeze and a copy of the 4.1 firmware:
iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download
iH8sn0w.com | Jailbreak your iPod touches and iPhones

Next open sn0wbreeze point it to the 4.1 firmware you downloaded and follow the steps to make a custom firmware. If you have an official carrier sim make sure you choose not to activate so that itunes activates the iphone for you.

Since you are already jailbroken with redsn0w all you have to do is go into itunes, hold down shift and click restore. A window will open where you can choose the 4.1 custom firmware you made.

If you get a 1603 error you can download ireb from the same site as sn0wbreeze and use that to put it in dfu first then try restoring to the custom firmware again.

If you have access to a Mac using pwnage tool is more reliable but the steps are pretty much the same.
