T-Mobile USA Carrier Bundles

This thread has become so large, that is scaring people way. As such, I have decided to write a very short and to the point article on my blog. Nevertheless, this thread will continue to be used for help and support.

Tried to do this in Vista64:

The directory name is invalid.

But I can get there:

The bundles in Cydia are broken. The bundles that are floating around the net that enable tethering are incomplete or broken. I have created my own bundle(s). It does not require jailbreaking. It can be installed via iTunes. You will find two bundles. One for PostPaid/FlexPay T-Mobile accounts and another one for Prepaid.

If you choose to share the bundle on other sites, please link bank to this thread or to my Twitter account. So, people can receive updates. There are rumours that T-Mobile are training their employees for the Visual Voicemail launch at the end of July. These bundles will have to be updated with the Visual Voicemail settings if their implementation is compatible with the iPhone. The bundles were made for the 3.0 Firmware. They will work with any iPhone running iPhone OS 3.0.

Sidekick plan bundle to come. If anyone can suggest VPN settings, please do. I don't know how to configure VPN.

Besides, MMS and tethering, these bundles also have the proper T-Mobile logo. No more scrolling logo or "T - ...". It shows "T-Mobile".

I have only used a carrier bundle once last week when trying to get MMS working on my 2G. Updating with this bundle won't undo any settings that I have now right? I'm worried about loosing the ability to MMS and such. Also, will this bundle enable tethering for T-Mo on the 2G?

It will overwrite your settings. I am not familiar with the 2G. All I can guarantee is that it works on the iPhone OS 3.0 for iPhone 3G and 3GS.

I just tested it with custom logos. I am against them. It looks like crap when it's on black. Plus, I would like the iPhone to look as official as possible.

If you're talking about enabling the ipcc updates in iTunes:

Start Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and type
defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

Thanks, So I did it and now my MMS stoped working. I'm on T-Mobile Prepaid, anyone else have this issue.

I'm pretty sure you can remove the bundle by going to Settings - General - Profile

Not sure though where you will leave you though. I would think that with no profile present, an "unknow" profile would be used as default.

I was afraid of the same thing happening and didn't risk using this file.....

Well I forgot to reboot, I swear I have noob brain today, the MMS's seem to have sent out but my wife has not recived it yet, I just recived one from her. Still very low quality image but it came through.

....Ok sent another one to my wife and she got it pretty quick. So all seems to work fine. Just had to reboot after the update. Thanks!!!

Sitting in the same room last night, I sent one and it took about 15 minutes for her to recieve. She sent one to me and it was there in under 2 minutes....... hokey a bit perhaps and the quality is difinately lacking but its incredible progress.

So did this bundle also enable tethering for you as well?

It's not a network profile. It cannot be removed from there.

I do not own a 2G, nor do I have a 2G. So, I cannot help. Tell me about the picture quality. What is the resolution of the image. You said it looks like crap.

Ahhh ok. So what does the profile do if the ipcc is all the settings.......

This MMS situation is the most in depth that I've gone with my iPhone and am still learning.

Hey thanks again for the update, everything work great with my T-Mobile Prepaid.


Since I'm on prepaid the tethering works but I only get access to basic T-Zones stuff, but its still awesome.
