I just bought my iPhone 4 today jail broke and unlocked it successfully, but I have yet to get service at all after inserting my sim which I cut down from a normal tmobile sim; the metal is fully exposed on the sim and there is nothing obstructing it at all. The sim worked fine ( before cut ) in my unlocked iPhone 3G but I can't seem to find a way to get it to work. I've looked up numerous YouTube videos and none fit my needs; has anyone else experienced this problem? If there any way to fix it?

What baseband is your iPhone 4 on?

As long as it is an unlockable baseband you should be good. If you are still not seeing service or are seeing a invalid sim error just keep rebooting the phone until it works, this usually takes a couple tries for me.

I've been resetting my phone; nothing seems to work... When I turn my phone on I have one bar and it doesn't say tmobile...when I switch in and out of air plane mode I get a "sim error" message

He probably has a locked baseband. Those can't be unlocked atm.

Sounds like you have the Gevey Sim unlock, follow the instructions carefully on the card.
I've got NPD (New Phone Disorder) every 6 months.

There is no unlock for that baseband. Except for using a gevey sim.
