Upgrade to 2.2 using iTunes by holding

    (Windows)
    Shift and click Restore

    (Mac)
    Alt and click Restore

Then once it finished upgrading to 2.2 - QuickPwn it and then install "yellowsn0w" via Cydia.

    What about 2.2.1?
Without the lastest baseband of course, but is it possible?

    Hi,

Yes. You will have to create a custom firmware with PwnageTool (Mac Only)

However there is not any know different between 2.2 and 2.2.1 apart from the baseband update - Correct me if i'm wrong.

The safest option is upgrade to 2.2 however if you want the latest 2.2.1 you will need create custom firmware using PwnageTool or obtain custom firmware from someone.

You need to have your T-Mob SIM in when you jailbreak.
Just Jailbreak again with your T-Mob SIM in then install YellowSnow (make sure you turn 3G off) and all will be fine.

non of the above steps helped for "different sim detected" so i followed this guide from diffrent site and after that worked fine. Credit go to use name :jadi929

Once you jailbreak/unlock your iphone, you should have access to Cydia and Installer.

Follow the steps below to get rid of the "different sim detected" message

    1. Use QUICKPWN 2.1 procedure to Jailbreak and Unlock.

    2. Now you need to remove the previous activation, for that you need to follow the below procedures.

2.1 Remove any sim cards inside so you have access to cydia, than open cydia, and you are going to search and find the following applications, than install them

    - Open NTPD
    - Open SSH
    - Automatic SSH

    3. Download and Use WinSCP to connect to iPhone
Download WinSCP SourceForge.net: WinSCP: Downloading ...

Guide on using WinSCP with iphone Windows Guide To Using WinSCP With iPhone

    4. Follow the below steps:

4.1 Download patched lockdown file from here
    RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

4.2 Navigate to to /private/var/root/Library/ and copy lockdown folder to your desktop (for backup just in case - this you need to do)

4.3 Delete that folder from phone

4.4 Unzip downloaded patched file and upload to phone to replace the folder you just deleted (make sure you replace the acutal lockdown folder that has the files in it)

4.5 Naviagte into patched folder and make sure file pemissions are set to 644 for all files (right click on "lockdown" and go to properties, than set file permission to 0644)

    4.6 Reboot phone

I really don't think you needed to do all that, but if it worked for you that's great
