problem: when i get a new voicemail or sms, i want music to play to let me know when i have a new message. i changed the .wav to .aif, and renamed to .caf file. I put these files in phonedmg.

    here's what i'm doing:
    i'm using windows xp, sp2...

    start->run
    cmd
    >cd \phonedmg
    Cphonedmg:>jailbreak

hold sleep/home buttons until "connect to itunes" message comes on the phone...so i let go when it does.

    cphonedmg>iphoneinterface

iphoneinterface connects to the phone fine....established...activated....

    iphone:/# cd /System/Library/Audio/UISounds
    iphone:/System/Library/Audio/UISounds# putfile /System/Audio/UISounds/Voicemail.caf
    Fileref: 1
    iphone:/System/Library/Audio/UISounds#
    putfile /System/Library/UISounds/sms-received.caf
    Fileref: 1
    iphone: /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/exit

    reboot phone....AND NOTHING HAPPENS!

    please help!

    thanks in advance!

hmm... your putfiles seem messed up.
    look:
    putfile /System/Audio/UISounds/Voicemail.caf
    putfile /System/Library/UISounds/sms-received.caf

their typed differently, and both are incorrect.

    should be:
    putfile /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/Voicemail.caf
    putfile /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/sms-received.caf

and if that still doesnt work, try using Audacity 1.3.3 (google it)
u can import your .wav and export it straight to a .caf
    hasnt failed me yet
