AVG is one of the top 10 available, I know many PC users that are very happy with it, Malwarebytes is also a great app to have also.

I have used just about every top anti-virus software you can think of. As of right now, I've been using AVG and I definitely think that I am going to be sticking with it for a very long time. It's not intrusive, doesn't disrupt me while I'm on the computer and does a great job keeping me protected. Also, I have Malwarebytes installed and I really dig it, as well. I would highly suggesting running the two in conjunction with each other. That way, you'll be able to be completely protected.

    Sophos- and it's free.

Sorry- didn't notice the "for Windows."

I have been using Comodo for years and it is free. Never any issues, and if you buy their paid version they will pay you if you get a virus in your pc that damages anything. How many other anti virus programs put money behind their product?

Currently I'm using Sophos and Norton 360 v5.0
They are both great AVs and work in their own ways.
I highly recommend you looking into them
I have also used ESET Smart Security 4(now there's 5) for a time, (but my subscription ran out)
I also recommend you looking into this as it is also a great AV
Sadly they're all paid subscription AVs (as far as I'm aware) but they all work equally great
If I helped don't fear to press the Thanks button (:

THE best antivirus I've found to date is Avast. It was able to completely clean my computer where other AVs failed
